Gavin Webster

Newcastle stand-up Gavin Webster is a confident, experience Geordie comic not afraid to take risks with controversial material and surreal off-the-wall ideas.

Gavin's material switches from friendly pub philosopher to ranting rabble-rouser with sharp one-liners and lively observations. He's also prone to whipping out a ukelele and performing a couple of original songs such as 'Student Blues' -"I woke up this afternoon, made myself some egg, humous, pasta and milk…"
TV & Radio appearances include: East Coast Mainline (Yorkshire Tyne Tees); After Hours (BBC Radio 5); The Morning show (Radio Newcastle); The Late Show (BBC North); The Zoo (BBC Radio Newcastle); The Score (Radio 5).

In January 1999 Gavin performed an hour long solo show at the Newcastle Hyena to a full house and rave reviews with a follow up show at the end of the year. August 1999 saw Gavin hosting the first ever Leeds Rock Festival comedy tent in the difficult 10pm -2am slot to rave reviews and peer respect.

Feb 2000 Gavin was guest performer on national tour with Danny Brown. March 2000 created, wrote and performed sketch for Channel 4's 11 O'clock Show. Autumn 2000 Gavin is currently resident performer at the new Manchester Comedy Store 'MEN' at work weekly topical show.
